Aboriginal learners and helps to
ensure their success
in school, work and life. Our Aboriginal programs
place great emphasis on tradition, culture and
community.
Through our academic and pre-employment training
programs, student
services and community initiatives,
we are committed to serving this
rapidly growing
segment of our population.
Aboriginal Practical Nurse Program
Designed in close partnership with Aboriginal staff
and elders, this
program provides you with the
skills to work as a practical nurse in your community.
There is
particular emphasis on Aboriginal
culture, spirituality and traditional healing
methods. |

Aboriginal Adult Upgrading and Pre-Employment Training Program
Full-time pre-employment training that features academic upgrading,
self-management skills,
employment credentials, cultural activities and Aboriginal speakers.
Offered in partnership with
Metis Nation Labour Market Development and Treaty 7 Economic Development
Corporation.
Aboriginal Pre-Trades Program
With a strong Aboriginal cultural support and Bow Valley College's
expertise in training and
testing for apprenticeship programs, this program prepares Aboriginal
peoples for rewarding
careers in the trades.

of information and funding for students.

funding:

. Aboriginal Health Careers Program Scholarship and Bursary –
administered by the
National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation
. Students' Finance Board
. Alberta Learning
. Federal Government
There may be many other potential sources of funding available to
students. Please contact your band education representative to see if there are other
sources of funding available to you.
