CRIMINAL RECORD
CHECKS
Applicants for Health Care Aide,
Hospital Unit Clerk, Medical Office Assistant, Teacher Assistant,
Out-of- School Programming for School-Age Children, the Work
Experience course in Academic Foundations and the Practical Nurse
programs are advised that they will be required to provide a current
criminal record check prior to entering the work experience component
of their program.
Applicants are responsible for applying for and obtaining their own
criminal record check. It is the responsibility of the student to
obtain the necessary information for their record and understand the
implications on their work/clinical placement and the licensure and/or
employment prospects.
For information on how to obtain a criminal record check, please
contact your local police district office or the Bow Valley College
Student Services office at 403-410-1400. It is the decision of the
practicum agencies to accept or reject a student for placement or
observation experience based on the results of your criminal record
check. Both completion of your course requirements and eventual
employment will be dependent upon the results of these criminal record
checks. Should you require further information about our admissions
policy, please call Student Services at 403-410-1400.
