Cashing your Loan Certificates
Once you receive your Canada or Alberta Student Loan Certificates in the mail, check to see if they have been CERTIFIED BY THE SCHOOL (most documents have already been certified by BVC). If they have not, a Financial Aid Administrator at the College must sign them. Drop your loan documents off in the 3rd floor "Learner Success Services Drop Box" (adjacent to the Registrar's Office) to be signed for pick-up. Please note that there is a 48-hour (two-day) turnaround time for signing of these documents. If they have already been CERTIFIED BY THE SCHOOL see below.
Once CERTIFIED or SIGNED you must take them to an approved Canada Postal Outlet for processing. Remember to take your SIN card, photo ID, and your banking information (void cheque).
Canada Student Loans
Are forwarded to and processed through the NATIONAL STUDENT LOANS SERVICE CENTRE (NSLSC)

Once your loan documents are processed, tuition and fees will be forwarded to the College, and any remaining funds will be deposited into your bank account.

Change in Circumstance/Appeal – Alberta Works
If you are funded through Alberta Works you can notify Students Finance of any changes to your situation, or request a review of your award by completing an Appeal Application. Change in Circumstance forms are available on the 3rd floor. Once you have completed the form, drop it in the "Learner Success Services Drop Box" on the 3rd floor and it will be couriered to Students Finance.
Changes in Circumstance could include:
- Address change
- Name change
- Change in marital status
- Addition/removal of spouse
- Addition/removal of dependants
- Changes in monthly expenses/resources
- Changes in training information
- Requests for additional financial aid
- Other

Changes in Circumstance/Appeals – Student Loans
If you are funded through Student Loans you can notify Students Finance of any changes to your situation, or request a review of your award by completing an Appeal Application. Appeal Applications are available at the 3rd floor Registrar's Office and once completed, will be couriered to Students Finance upon your request.
