| Conversation club |
The ESL Conversation Club is a drop-in program where Bow Valley College ESL learners can practice speaking and listening to English in a relaxed and fun setting. With the help of a coach, learners discuss topics related to living in Canada; topics may cover work, play, community and culture.
The ESL Conversation Club meets in the Library & Learning Commons at the following times:
Tuesday: 11:00 am - noon & 2:45 - 3:45 pm
Wednesday: 11:00 am - noon & 2:45 - 3:45 pm
Thursday: 11:00 am - noon & 2:00 - 3:00 pm
Friday: 11:00 am - noon & 2:00 - 3:00 pm

| Writing club |
The Writing Club is a drop-in program offered to all Bow Valley College learners where writing skills are practiced in a relaxed and safe environment. Learners of all levels and backgrounds come together to write about various topics, focusing on free-writing, brainstorming, organization, and structure. It is through these activities that we build community at the college and help learners gain confidence in grammar, vocabulary, and spelling.
Come for 15 minutes or stay the entire 2 hour session during the following times in the Library & Learning Commons:
Monday: 10:00 am - noon & 1:00 - 3:00 pm
Tuesday: 10:00 am - noon
Thursday: 2:00 - 4:00 pm

| Reading club |
The reading club is a drop-in program offered to all Bow Valley College learners where they can practice and improve their reading skills. Learners will read a variety of materials including short stories, poetry, and newspaper articles. Vocabulary and word games will also be utilized to bring a little extra fun into the hour. Learners, with the help of a staff facilitator, will discuss, preview, analyze, and draw conclusions from written material. The group will also learn how to “read between the lines” and find meaning within context.
We offer a casual, friendly environment where the discussion is lively and fun.

Wednesday: 10:00 - 11:00 am & 1:45 - 2:45 pm
