Web Conferencing - Adobe Connect

Adobe Connect 98 title

Bow Valley College's web conferencing application is Adobe Connect.  It can be used for online meetings, elearning or webinar applications.  It is used by both staff and instructors in many ways at BVC. Here are some examples:

  1. Instructing to North Campus learners while learners off-site participate in real-time (synchronously) via an Adobe Connect virtual classroom.
  2. Attending meetings held in one geographic location via a virtual meeting room.
  3. Attending training sessions or PD Day sessions through a virtual training / meeting room.
  4. Adding a virtual meeting room to a Blackboard course so learners can make class presentations or instructors can hold virtual office hours, exam prep sessions or a seminar meeting.
  5. Bringing guest lecturers or speakers in via web-conference rather than in -person.
  6. Allowing learners or instructors  to participate in class via a virtual meeting room so they do not have to miss class due to illness, snowstorms or other reasons.
  7. Recording a lecture or talk using Adobe Connect and distributing the recording to learners and colleagues for improved access.
  8. Supporting or tutoring  individual learners through virtual meeting rooms.

Anytime... Anywhere... Any path... Any pace.  Include Adobe Connect web-conferencing as a cost effective and environmentally friendly way to extend access to learning and to colleagues.  Talk to TLE about incorporating Adobe Connect into your practice, setting up training and arranging for support.
