Because of your generosity, Bow Valley College has supported a total of 290 students and their 578 children with child care bursaries since 2007.

Who Are We?

Calgary Energy Partners, under the leadership of Mr. Bill Davis, is a composite of local business people who are the heroes and heroines behind the Bow Valley College Childcare Initiative.

Did you know?

Fundraising continues, in order to keep this bursary program available. 95% of graduates from career programs at Bow Valley College are employed in their field of choice within six months.

Calgary Energy Partners Child Care Initiative

Imagine being a parent of small children overwhelmed with daunting thoughts of how to afford safe, stimulating and loving child care while you are at school already stressed with the task of completing assignments, taking tests and working towards a career to improve all your lives.

For some, access to child care may make the difference in their ability to complete their program of studies. Bow Valley College has a diverse student population with an older average age than most colleges, which means that many more of our students carry the extra responsibility of children and child care with them to college.

Dear Friends,

For most reading this newsletter we have the resources to see our children grow carefree through their early years.

Many students at Bow Valley College are also parents of young children. In many cases they are single parents who struggle with balancing school, work and caring for their children. Money is tight and stressful financial decisions are ever-present.

This is where the Calgary Energy Partners Child Care Bursary makes me very proud. Created over four years ago, this unique fund provides bursaries of $200 per month, per child to assist with childcare costs.  

The best part? It works-as you can see in the notes we're including from grateful students. Thank you for joining with me to provide for others the joy we take for granted when caring for our own children. Education is the path to new lives for these families - and your support makes this possible.
