CAREERS IN ADMINISTRATION
OFFICE ADMINISTRATION CERTIFICATE
The role of the administrative assistant is rapidly changing and
growing in scope and complexity. This program provides you with the
practical skills and knowledge to take on a wide range of
responsibilities related to office work. Learn software applications,
keyboarding, administrative procedures, information administration, and
communications, as well as a range of interpersonal skills that make you
an effective and skilled member of any office environment.

Admission Requirements:

Credit in English 30-1 or 30-2 or equivalent
Credit in Grade 10 Math (excluding 14 & 16 levels)
OR:
Successful completion of the General Equivalency Development test (GED)
with a standard score of 520 in Language Arts: Reading and Writing and
450 in Math
OR:
Satisfactory results on the BVC Admissions test
International Applicants or Applicants Educated Outside of Canada
English language proficiency can be demonstrated by any one of:
Must present a minimum score of 71 on the internet-based TOEFL test (iBT)
or equivalent
OR:
Complete the Bow Valley College EAP program with a grade of B
OR:
Obtain satisfactory results on the BVC Admissions Test
The Math requirement may be met by presenting English transcripts
showing equivalent level Math completion or attaining a passing mark on
the same program entrance examination.
Note: a minimum keyboarding speed of 25 wpm is strongly recommended.
