Advanced Assisting with Medication Delivery (30 Hours – 20 Hours Class Time and 10 Hours Homestudy)  l ^top

Support workers and caregivers in a variety of settings (e.g., agencies, home care, daycare and community care) can learn about medication delivery through participation in this course. This course provides instruction and practice to learn medical transcription skills. Content includes roles and responsibilities, transcription guidelines, internet use, medical terminology, medical records, reports and correspondence, grammar, spelling, proofing, editing, keyboarding and use of equipment. A written examination and a skill evaluation are completed at the end of the course.

Prerequisite:
• Completion of a Medical Terminology course within the last three years or equivalent
• Keyboarding (40 wpm) and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and internet is strongly recommended
