Anatomy and Physiology (90 Hours - 70 Hours Class Time and 20 Hours Homestudy)  l ^top

This course offers an introduction to the normal structures and functions of the human body according to body systems. Recommended for those who have Biology 30 or who are able to commit to home/self study of complex materials in addition to classroom learning. Applied Pharmacology with Medication Therapy (90 Hours – 72 Hours Self Study Online and 18 Hours Nursing Lab)   l ^top

Learn the principles and actions of medications, the rationale for medication use and expected results. This course emphasizes critical thinking and nursing principles to assess the need for, and response to, medications. Learn to administer medications via all routes, including intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections and intravenous medications. The course includes 18 hours of nursing practice lab.

Prerequisite:
• LPN, Practical Nurse student, or a Practical Nurse who is taking the

Leadership for Licensed Practical Nurses – Online (45 Hours)   l ^top

Building on the knowledge gained from their practical nurse education, this course provides Licensed Practical Nurses with the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to analyze their transition to leadership practice and effectively take on formal and informal leadership roles within an increasingly complex health-care environment. This course emphasizes practical approaches to gaining skills and confidence in leadership roles.

Immunization Online (45 Hours)  l ^top

This course is designed to meet the needs of Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) in performing the preparation and administration of immunizations. The course builds on previous LPN coursework in pharmacology and medication administration. This course provides new knowledge, skills, attitudes, and judgements necessary to become certified to administer immunizing/biological agents.

Prerequisite:
The applicant for this course must be an LPN who holds an active license and has successfully completed training in Intramuscular and Intradermal Injections. Student must provide registry number upon registration.

This course is designed to meet the needs of Licensed Practical Nurses. Review and practice the key elements in medication therapy, intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections. This course provides instruction and practice to learn medical transcription skills. Content includes roles and responsibilities, transcription guidelines, internet use, medical terminology, medical records, reports and correspondence, grammar, spelling, proofing, editing, keyboarding and use of equipment. A written examination and a skill evaluation are completed at the end of the course.

Prerequisite:
• Completion of a Medical Terminology course within the last three years or equivalent
• Keyboarding (40 wpm) and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and internet is strongly recommended

Learn about foot anatomy, assessment and treatment, hygiene, preventive approaches and selection of footwear for optimum foot health.
