Premier Stelmach joins Bow Valley College at 16th annual Premier’s Scholarship Luncheon

CALGARY, November 27, 2009 – CALGARY—Premier Ed Stelmach will present four Bow Valley College (BVC) students with the Premier’s Scholarship on Friday, November 27, at the Calgary Chamber of Commerce.

Attending his third Premier’s Scholarship Luncheon, Premier Stelmach will join BVC Board Chair Scott Thon, BVC President and CEO Sharon Carry, Calgary business leaders, BVC donors and supporters, and representatives from all three levels of government. Those assembled will honour the academic achievements of four students who will receive the Premier’s Scholarship.

The 16th annual Premier’s Scholarship Luncheon is a major fundraiser for the College. Since 1994, the event has raised more than $2 million and provided financial support to thousands of students.

Media are invited to attend this function. A media room with refreshments will be provided. BVC President Sharon Carry and the scholarship recipients (biographies attached) will be available for interviews following the luncheon. The scholarships will be presented by Carry and Premier Stelmach at 12:30 p.m., followed by a live auction and then speeches by Carry (1:10 p.m.) and Premier Stelmach (1:15 p.m.).
