Bow Valley College’s Airdrie campus
turned 20 years old on March 23, and students, staff, alumni and the
community gathered at the site to celebrate.
Airdrie’s Mayor, Linda Bruce, gave a
congratulatory message, and joined
Sharon Carry,
president and ceo, Bow
Valley College and Karen Mercer, coordinator, Extension Programs, for an
official cake cutting ceremony.
Instructors, alumni, current students
and their families visited with one another, enjoyed an enormous
birthday cake and viewed a slideshow prepared by Roxanne Baeuchle, a
student in the Career Transitions program.
Roxanne completed part
of her work practicum by assisting with the planning of the event. "It
was a great experience. The atmosphere at the College is so positive
and I really enjoyed learning about the details that go into
coordinating an event like this."
