High School Equivalency (GED) Preparation

Prepare to pass the official GED Tests and earn a High School Equivalency Diploma issued by the Department of Alberta Education and recognized in every Canadian province and territory.

GED Preparation - Full-time

This  program prepares students to successfully write the official GED Tests through one full-time term of study. Students receive daily Monday to Friday classroom instruction to develop the skills needed for these three courses:

  • Reading, Science & Social Studies for GED
  • Writing for GED
  • Math for GED

(Note: Students can register in Math for GED separately, but must register in both Reading for GED and Writing for GED concurrently. Students with adequate Math skills do not need to take Math for GED but will still be required to write the Math section of the GED Exams.)

GED Preparation - Evenings

Many employers accept the General Educational Development (GED) diploma as equivalent to a high school diploma. We provide you with the skills to challenge the official GED Tests. This three evening a week traditional classroom course gives you a solid foundation in Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Reading and Writing skills. While you are enrolled, register to write the GED Tests in each of the five subject areas. Passing all five tests gives you a GED diploma.

GED Preparation - Anytime Online

Take your GED preparation course anytime online through eCampus Alberta. This course prepares students to write the battery of GED Tests. Students have access to interactive learning activities, practice tests, and instructor support.

Note: Students have a maximum of 24 weeks to complete course from the date of registration. 

GED Preparation - Real Time Online

Sign up for our Real Time Online GED Preparation course. You will be able to attend two nights per week live online classes, led by an instructor in a virtual classroom. Each session is recorded to allow students to access lessons at a later time for review and study purposes. The focus of this course is on Language Arts Reading, Language Arts Writing, and Mathematics.
