High School Equivalency (GED) Preparation

Prepare to pass the official GED Tests and earn a High School Equivalency Diploma issued by the Department of Alberta Education and recognized in every Canadian province and territory.

GED Preparation - Full-time

This  program prepares students to successfully write the official GED Tests through one full-time term of study. Students receive daily Monday to Friday classroom instruction in the following three courses:

  • Reading, Science & Social Studies for GED
  • Writing for GED
  • Math for GED

(Note: Students can register in Math for GED separately, but must register in both Reading for GED and Writing for GED concurrently. Students with adequate Math skills do not need to take Math for GED but will still be required to write the Math section of the GED Exams.)

Start date: Jan. 7, 2015; May 4, 2015; Aug. 31, 2015, Jan. 7, 2016; May 3, 2016

GED Preparation - Evenings

Many employers accept the General Educational Development (GED) diploma as equivalent to a high school diploma. We provide you with the skills to challenge the official GED Tests. This three evening a week traditional classroom course gives you a solid foundation in Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Reading and Writing skills. While you are enrolled, register to write the GED Tests in each of the five subject areas. Passing all five tests gives you a High School Equivalency Diploma.

                     April 6, 2015 to June 19, 2015
                     September 14, 2015 to November 19, 2015
                     January 11, 2016 to March 17, 2016
                     March 28, 2016 to June 02, 2016

GED Preparation - Anytime Online

Take your GED preparation course anytime online through eCampus Alberta. This course prepares students to write the battery of GED Tests. Students have access to interactive learning activities, practice tests, and instructor support. 

Start date: Every first Monday of the month or at regular intakes

Note: Students have a maximum of 24 weeks to complete course from the date of registration. 

GED Preparation - Evening Real Time Online

Sign up for our evening Real Time Online GED Preparation course. You will be able to attend two nights per week instructor-led live online classes. Each session is recorded to allow you access to lessons at a later time for review and study purposes. The focus of this course is on Language Arts Reading, Language Arts Writing, and Mathematics.

Start date: Jan. 15, 2015; May 7, 2015; Sep. 8, 2015; Jan. 7, 2016
