Public Relations Diploma

MINISTERIAL APPROVAL PENDING

Bow Valley College is pleased to offer this diploma in partnership with Grant MacEwan University. Graduates will receive their credential from Grant MacEwan University.

This program offers a unique opportunity for individuals with previous post-secondary education to launch a dynamic new career in less than a year. Previous post-secondary education (minimum 30 credits) can be applied to this program, fast-tracking participants to a highly reputable diploma and excellent employment opportunities in a growing field.

Public relations professionals will find employment in organizations dedicated to strategic communication - private sector, government, education, non for profit organizations, media, and many others. In this diverse field potential roles include public affairs officers, communication assistants, community relations coordinators, editorial assistants, media spokespersons and promotion coordinators.

Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

  • Applicants must have a minimum of 30 post-secondary credits, including a post-secondary English course.
  • Applicants must meet the Business Department English Language Proficiency Requirements.
  • All applicants must take and pass the Public Relations Diploma program English entrance exam with a minimum grade of 70%.


Transferability

Graduates of the Public Relations program may also pursue accreditation through a professional association such as the Canadian Public Relations Society or the International Association of Business Communicators.
