Customs Processes for Industry Professionals
This course provides industry client professionals with an understanding of the basics of the import/export business. Students will learn how to work more effectively with customs processes and brokers. Topics covered are: Customs Act; departmental memorandums; Customs Tariff Act; Rules of Classification and the applicable sections of the Act; classification of goods, tariff treatments, NAFTA (General Rules); various import documents; accounting documentation; the implication of AMPS penalties; and brokerage research.
