Introduction to Interpreting

This course describes the role of interpreters in relation to the institutions, agencies, organizations, professionals, and individuals with whom they work. It describes the settings in which interpreters are needed and indicates the language and interpreting skills that interpreters need in order to carry out the role successfully. Finally, it introduces the legal and ethical considerations relating to the work of the interpreter.
