Chest Tubes
Gain knowledge in anatomy and physiology, pathology, assessment, equipment, nursing implications, and care as they apply to chest tubes.

Gastric Tubes
Learn insertion and care of nasogastric and gastrostomy tubes.

Lift and Transfer for Institutional Settings
Learn about lifts and transfers required in agency/institutional settings, including topics such as body mechanics, transfer techniques, and the principles of mechanical lifters.

Patient Care Plans
Learn about patient classification and documentation systems.

Saline and Heparin Locks
Learn initiating, maintaining, and discontinuing saline and heparin locks on established IVs.

Staples, Sutures and Drains
Learn to care for clients with staples, sutures, and drains. You will study anatomy, care, removal, and assessment.

Tracheostomy Care
Learn proper care of a tracheostomy. This workshop includes topics like anatomy and physiology, pathology, assessment, equipment, nursing implications, and care.

Urinary Catheterization
In this workshop, you will learn to insert and remove bladder catheters. You will review the female and male urinary systems and discuss the importance of fluid balance, the purpose of catheterization, and the principles of sterile technique. Adaptations for home setting included.
