English for Academic Purposes

The English for Academic Purposes program consists of three interconnected courses which equip internationally educated learners with the stategies and skills needed for success in further post-secondary programs of study in Canada.
 

Part-Time Language Skills Programs

Bow Valley College offers a variety of Part-Time ELL courses for both general language improvement and focussed language skill development. Classes are offered from beginner to advanced levels.
 
 

Corporate Readiness Training Program

Are you a skilled professional immigrant with no Canadian work experience? This full-time program assists skilled, foreign-trained professionals to learn the strategies to successfully find a job, have an opportunity to earn a Canadian work experience reference and improve their English language and intercultural communication skills for the Canadian workplace.
 

Success in the Workplace: Communication Skills for Immigrant Professionals

The Success in the Workplace Program (SWP) works with internationally trained professionals, offering ongoing skills training in a format designed to fit busy schedules. Employer participation is key and guarantees that the SWP training meets the needs of an ever-changing workplace.

Part-time Exam Preparation

Our intensive exam preparation courses will help improve the skills and strategies required for internationally recognized standardized English-language examinations.
 
 

Full-time ELL (English Language Learning)

Classes are offered from basic literacy to high intermediate levels of English. Literacy classes are available at several levels. Each class focuses on all skill areas (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) and gives students the language they need to live, work, and study in Canada.
 

Saturday ELL Tutorials

Saturday ELL tutorials are suitable for beginner to advanced level ELL speakers.
 
 

Immigrant Youth Programs

These program are for ELL learners between the ages of 18 and 25 wanting to develop the study and life skills necessary to access further education.
 

55+ ELL Tutorials

Learn English in a fun-filled, small group environment. Classes are offered from beginner to advanced levels.
 
 

Part-time Language Instruction for Newcomers (LINC)

Learn the English language skills you need for living, working, and studying in Canada. Classes are offered from CLB levels 4 to 7 in the mornings and evenings.
 

Part-time ELL Literacy

This course supports learners with low-level literacy skills. Learners develop reading, writing and computer skills.
