Volunteer Program

Improve your English in a small-group setting with the support of a volunteer tutor. To register, call 403-410-1400.

55+ Tutorials

55+ Everyday English
Learn English in a fun-filled environment. Classes are offered from beginner to advanced levels. You can also participate in extra pronunciation and vocabulary classes. For more information, call 403-410-3408.

Time: 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Registration: Ongoing
Fees: $55.00 plus GST

55+ Culture and Community
Practice English while learning about community resources and participate in leisure activities. This course focuses on areas of interest, such as art appreciation and crafts and health and wellness. Program registration includes extra pronunciation and vocabulary classes.

Saturday ESL Tutorials

Saturday ESL tutorials are suitable for beginner to advanced level ESL speakers.

Choose ONE from the following:

  • Speaking Successfully
    Improve your vocabulary, pronunciation, non-verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Pronunciation Practice
    Learn pronunciation strategies and techniques to improve your spoken English skills.
  • Practical Conversations
    Improve your listening, speaking, and vocabulary skills.
  • Effective Writing
    Practice and improve your written communication skills.
  • Grammar Fundamentals
    Learn and practice grammar that will help to improve your communication skills.
  • Business English and Etiquette
    Practice business communication skills and learn about Canadian workplace etiquette.
  • Beginner English
    Learn and practice beginner everyday English skills.

Volunteer Opportunities

English as a Second Language Volunteer Program
Help second-language speakers learn English by assisting in an ESL classroom or by tutoring a small group of adult ESL learners. To become a volunteer, call 403-410-3408 or contact jrobarts@bowvalleycollege.ca.
