Nutrition Manager Certificate

This program’s flexible courses cater to busy lifestyles. For those interested in a rewarding food service career, this online, self-paced program boosts employability and earning potential. The 8 courses and work experience placement are completed part-time over 3 years.

The program is accredited by the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM).

Nutrition Managers manage all aspects of food service operations, including menu planning, food preparation, safety, sanitation, purchasing, budgeting, marketing, and personnel management. Wages start at approximately $28/hour which increases with experience.

Domestic tuition for the certificate program is approximately $2550 plus additional fees, textbooks, and police information check fees. Please contact the Financial Aid Office for advice on financing a Bow Valley College education.

Admission requirements

Academic Requirements

  • High school diploma with credit in English 30-1 or 30-2 or equivalent

OR:

  • Successful completion of the General Equivalency Development (GED) test with a standard score of 520 in Language Arts: Reading and Writing

OR:

  • Approval of department
Additional Requirements
  • Current Police Information Check (PIC) must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to program start date in order to maintain a seat in the program.  Updated PICs may be required one month prior to work experience. The existence of a criminal record may postpone or prevent practicum placement or professional registration.
  • Food service, supervisory experience and basic computer skills are assets
  • Students are responsible for securing approved work experience placements; assistance provided where possible.
  • Food Safe Certificate (1 month prior to work experience)
  • Current valid immunization report*
  • CPR Certificate*
