Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

  • High School Diploma with credit in English 30-1 or 65%  in English 30-2 or equivalent
OR:
  • Successful completion of the General Equivalency Development test with a standard score of 520 in Language Arts: Reading and Writing

OR:

  • Satisfactory results on the BVC Admissions Test

Additional Admission Requirement

  • A current Police Information Check (PIC) with a vulnerable sector search that is completely clear

Law Enforcement Additional Admission Requirement


A medical release form completed by a doctor stating that:

  • The applicant can handle strenuous physical exercise
  • The applicant has good eyesight and colour vision

Transferability

Graduates of this program may be accepted into:

  • Lethbridge College - Bachelor of Applied Arts, Correctional Studies
  • Athabasca University - Bachelor of Professional Arts in Criminal Justice or Governance, Law and Management
  • Royal Roads University - Bachelor of Arts in Justice Studies
  • University of Calgary - Graduates of two-year BVC diploma programs will be awarded up to 5 full course junior open options

Some transfer credit is available from:

  • Mount Royal University
