TRANSFER CREDIT

Transfer Credit is a process where applicable course work completed at other recognized or accredited postsecondary institutions will be considered for possible transfer credit towards a Bow Valley College Post Secondary program.

Guidelines
1. Course work must be completed at a recognized or accredited postsecondary institution.
2. Transfer credit will only be assessed for students who have applied to and been accepted into a Bow Valley College program.
3. The amount of transfer credit received is limited to the Bow Valley College general residency requirement, which states that at least 25% of a program must be completed at Bow Valley College.
4. Only courses completed at a recognized or accredited postsecondary institution with a course mark of ‘C’ or better (not lower than 65% on a percentage scale) will be considered for transfer credit.
5. The Dean of the appropriate department may impose time limitations if courses are considered ‘time sensitive’. (i.e.: Nursing courses)

Fees
An evaluation fee may be charged in the following circumstances:
a. Evaluation of courses taken outside Canada upon recommendation through the International Qualification Assessment Services (IQAS) assessment.

Applicants who are denied transfer credit may appeal in writing to the Registrar (or designate) of Bow Valley College with a copy to the corresponding department. Students must submit a transfer credit request prior to the end of the first month of a program.
