Michael Lohaus brings a comprehensive background in digital entertainment and creative leadership to his role managing the Digital Entertainment Nexus esports arena and production hub. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Media Arts and Digital Technologies from Alberta College of Art and Design (AUArts), Lohaus progressed from junior designer to creative director, managing in-house teams for Western Canada's largest insurance company. As an entrepreneur, he launched the first Calgary-made video game on Steam and served five years as President of the Calgary Game Developers Association. His full-stack design specialization in UX and motion design, combined with extensive community and industry connections, makes him an ideal spokesperson for video game development, film/animation industry trends, esports facility development, and Calgary's growing digital entertainment ecosystem.
