About

Reetu Mall is a Criminologist and Program Chair for the Justice Studies Diploma with expertise in high-risk intimate partner violence, homicide prevention, trauma-informed practice, gender-based violence, offender management, and criminal justice reform. She holds a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice, with great distinction, and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Mount Royal University.

Mall has extensive experience across multiple areas of the criminal justice system, having worked in collaboration with federal and municipal police services, Crown prosecutors,  parole and probation officers, the court system, child and family services. In British Columbia she developed and led the implementation of mandatory training for all specialized Domestic Violence RCMP officers across the province, while contributing to provincial policy initiatives. Currently, as part of the Calgary Police Anti-Racism Action Committee (ARAC), Mall works collaboratively to address systemic racism and bias in policing, contributing to discussions and initiatives on race-based data collection, use-of-force policies, protest response, police accountability, transparency, and education. She teaches a range of justice courses, including Canadian Criminal Procedure, Diversity and Criminal Justice in Canada, Criminal Law, Trauma Informed Practice, Foundation of Ethics and Justice, and Crisis Management for Law Enforcement.
