Established by Fasken Martineau Du Moulin LLP (Fasken), this scholarship is designed to provide meaningful support to a future Indigenous learner who demonstrates financial need and a strong interest in pursuing a career path in the Legal Assistant profession. This award reflects our commitment to reducing systemic barriers and fostering equitable access to education. Through this scholarship, we aim to ensure that an Indigenous student has the opportunity to thrive academically and professionally, empowering them to build successful careers in the legal field and the Legal Assistant profession. By investing in emerging talent, Fasken hopes to create pathways to long-term success, strengthen community representation within the profession, and contribute to a more inclusive and diverse workforce.
Amount: Up to $16,924
Criteria: Applicant must be full-time, indigenous, domestic and maintain a 2.67 GPA throughout their studies. Additional criteria might be displayed while completing application.

This bursary is awarded to an Alberta student who is entering the first year of a two-year Diploma program at Bow Valley College and has had no previous Post-Secondary schooling. Recipient must have had superior academic achievement in high school and currently have financial need.
Recipients of this award must not be receiving more than $3,500 in other scholarships, bursaries or awards at the time of application.
Amount: $1,000
Criteria: Applicant must be domestic, full-time, may not have previous post secondary schooling, must be an Alberta resident in financial need. Additional criteria might be displayed while completing application.

This award has been established to support a youth, who is a fulltime student at Bow Valley College. The award celebrates the student’s determination to create a better future for themselves and their family by working diligently towards their educational goals.
Amount: $2,000/term for first year of Certificate or Diploma Program
Criteria: Applicant must be full-time, under 25 years of age, domestic or international, entering a career program. Additional criteria might be displayed while completing application.

The Bissett Family Scholars Entrance Bursary Program is open to new first-year Bow Valley College students who are interested in pursuing career training programs that will set them on a track to enter the workforce after graduation. Recipients will be selected based on demonstrated financial need, potential for academic success and career planning. The program is open to Calgary high school students (who graduated within the past 2 years) entering their first year at Bow Valley College and Bow Valley College's School of Foundational Learning who pursued their high school diploma at the College. Applicants must not have previous post-secondary education. The Bissett Bursary recipients who maintain acceptable grades will be eligible to renew their bursary for each semester of their selected program.
Amount: $5,000/term of Certificate (up to 2 payments) or Diploma (up to 4 payments)
Criteria: Applicant must be full-time, domestic, may not have previous post secondary schooling, entering a career program. Additional criteria might be displayed while completing application.

This award was established to help all women entering a diploma or post-diploma technology-related program at Bow Valley College. These bursaries are available to help cover tuition costs and help offset program related costs such as technology, childcare, and basic expenses. TransAlta's goal is to ease financial pressures and reassure recipients that they can manage school and meet their education goals.
