Course Description

This course provides a foundational understanding of digital forensics with a focus on establishing and managing a digital forensics lab. Students will explore the essential components and infrastructure required for setting up a lab, including hardware, software, workflow design, and security protocols. Emphasis will be placed on aligning operations with industry standards such as ISO 17025 and NIST guidelines. The course also prepares students to design evidence-handling workflows that meet legal, ethical, and forensic standards, and to develop strategic approaches for collaborating with internal teams and external cyber forensics specialists during investigations.
