Bow Valley and MaKami Colleges Join Forces to Expand Legal Career Opportunities

July 21, 2025

(Calgary, AB) Students completing their first year of MaKami College’s Business Administrative Assistant Certificate can now transfer directly into the Legal Office Assistant Diploma at Bow Valley College with full credit for one semester of study.

The full block transfer of credit recognizes MaKami College’s quality programming, while ensuring students have a clear opportunity to evolve their skills as they prepare to advance their education and launch their careers.

“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to accessible, career-focused education and supports learners in building on the foundation they have already established,” says Bart Chudleigh, Dean of the Chiu School of Business at Bow Valley College. “Together we are streamlining the transition for students and helping them efficiently pursue their academic and professional goals in the legal administrative field.”

Dedicated to access and work integrated learning, these institutions ensure students from any starting point can achieve their career goals.

MaKami College is thrilled to offer this as its first diploma pathway program, marking an important step as an independent academic institution.

“At MaKami, our purpose is to help individuals succeed, believing that empowering people leads to stronger communities and new opportunities,” says John Djordjevic, Dean of MaKami College. “We are thrilled to partner with Bow Valley College to open more career paths for our Business Administration graduates and to provide a supportive learning environment where all students can overcome barriers and achieve their educational dreams.”
