Mo Shaukat brings extensive frontline experience from Correctional Service Canada to his role as a Justice Studies instructor. With a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, Master of Public Administration, and Graduate Certificate in Financial Accounting, Shaukat's career included roles as Correctional Officer, Hostage/Crisis Negotiator, National Staff Training Officer, and Adjutant of the Guard of Honour - Prairie Region. He served as an instructor for the Canadian Armed Forces Advanced Leadership Training Program and specializes in effective communication, law and policy, de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and various security protocols. Beyond his corrections background, Shaukat founded the Alberta Chapter of Boots on the Ground, leading peer support services for first responders and military members. Currently appointed to the Policing Committee for the City of Airdrie, he offers expert commentary on corrections, crisis negotiation, first responder mental health, and justice system reform.
