Course Description

This course introduces classic and contemporary children’s literature, providing an overview of its history and context. Students examine reading practices as shaped by social context and explore a range of genres and theories, including narrative therapy, with a focus on social justice and identity. The course also considers practical ways to support children in selecting books that foster empathy and self-understanding.
