Course Description

This interdisciplinary course provides an introduction to women’s and gender studies. It presents significant historical developments of the women’s movement, along with key feminist theoretical perspectives that explain and challenge the gendered nature of social relations. Through texts and social issues, students use an intersectional approach to critically analyze women’s lives across diverse social locations, including race/ethnicity, religion, class, age, sexuality, and ability.
