TOWES Skills for Success: Validation Study

Timeframe:

April 2021

to

May 2025

Led by Bow Valley College, this national, multi-year applied research project aims to validate and support the new Skills for Success model. The study draws on a wide network of national partners and consulting experts, a large historical data pool, and the latest technological advancements from the College’s Test of Workplace Essential Skills (TOWES).

How does this project help?

The study supports Canada’s national adoption of the Skills for Success model through validated applied research in Reading, Numeracy, Writing, and Digital Skills. Using both quantitative and qualitative methods, it evaluates the model’s reliability, validity, and effectiveness. The project also includes developing and piloting modular, workplace-based training—delivered asynchronously and available in English and French—with assessments to measure skill gains aligned to the model.

For more detailed information about the project, you can visit the Skills for Success: Validation Study page.
