Complete or upgrade the courses you need for work or post-secondary admission. We offer pathways through adult basic education, high school equivalency and official Alberta Education high school courses to help you reach your goals as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Delivery Modes
Blended Asynchronous (BA)
- No scheduled class times.
- Lessons, activities, videos, and readings are posted in D2L and/or Teams (our online learning platform).
- Students are expected to complete assigned work and make consistent progress in their courses each week.
- Assessments are supervised and scheduled either on campus or with an approved off-site proctor.
- Expect up to 4 in-person assessments per term, plus a final exam (if applicable).
Blended Asynchronous & Synchronous (BAS)
- At least three scheduled online classes per week, plus independent study.
- Attendance at scheduled sessions is required.
- Assessments are supervised and scheduled either on campus or with an approved off-site proctor. Expect up to 4 in-person assessments per term, plus a final exam (if applicable)
- Classes scheduled five days a week: Monday to Thursday, on campus, Friday will be online.
- Attendance is required. Assessments are written during class time.
- Classes are scheduled five days a week (both online and on campus).
- You can choose how to participate; attend classes online, on campus, or watch recorded classes.
- Assessments are supervised and scheduled either on campus or with an approved off-site proctor.
- Expect up to 4 in-person assessments per term, plus a final exam (if applicable).
Minimum Technology Requirements
All students must have regular access to technology. A desktop computer or laptop is with the following capabilities is:
- Have reliable internet access.
- Have a camera and microphone.
- Support MS Teams and Desire to Learn (D2L)
- Allow access to email through a myBVC account.
- Allow access to PDF and Word documents.
- Have a keyboard to create text documents of 500 words or more.
