The Government of Alberta offers grant funding to support low-income Albertans who want to build skills or continue their education to prepare for in-demand jobs.

Students enrolled in Academic Upgrading, English for Academic Purposes (EAP), or Indigenous Pathways may be eligible for financial support.

Am I eligible for Foundational Learning Assistance funding?

Your status in Canada
You must be one of these:

  1. Canadian citizen
  2. permanent resident
  3. protected person who is allowed to work and study in Canada

You also need a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN).

How do I apply for funding?

Step 1: Apply and get accepted into a Foundational Learning program (Upgrading, English for Academic Purposes, or Indigenous Pathways).

Step 2: You will receive information through email on how to let us know you would like to apply for FLA funding.

Step 3: Once you are fully registered into your courses, we will enroll you on the Government funding system and the Government will email you a link to complete your funding application.
