Step 1. Check what you need to upgrade.

Before you apply, make sure your program is accepting applications and that you meet the admission requirements.

Step 2. Get ready to apply.

To begin your application, have this information ready:

• Your Alberta Student Number (ASN). If you have applied to or attended a school or post-secondary institution in Alberta, you will already have an ASN.  To find your ASN, you can use the ASN Lookup service. If you do not have an ASN, the ApplyAlberta system will assign one to you.
• High school courses and marks (for currently enrolled Canadian students only).

If you attended high school in Canada within the past 7 years, please bring a copy of your transcripts to the Office of the Registrar or email a scanned copy to upgrading@bowvalleycollege.ca.

If you haven't completed any Grade 10 to 12 courses in Canada in the last 7 years you will need to take the Bow Valley College Admission and Placement Test.

Step 5. Keep an eye on your application.

Once you’ve submitted your application, paid the application fee, and submitted your transcripts, check your application status regularly for any updates or additional steps that may be required.
