Step 1.

Make sure the program is currently accepting applications.

  • Your Alberta Student Number (ASN).  If you have applied to or attended a school or post-secondary institution in Alberta, you will already have an ASN.  To find your ASN, you can use the ASN Lookup service. If you do not have an ASN, the ApplyAlberta system will assign one to you.
  • High school courses and marks (for currently enrolled Canadian students only).. Not from Alberta? Check here for high school course equivalencies by province.

If you attended high school in Canada within the past 7 years, please bring a copy of your transcripts to the Office of the Registrar or email a scanned copy to upgrading@bowvalleycollege.ca

If you haven't completed any Grade 10 to 12 courses in Canada in the last 7 years you will need to take the Bow Valley College Admission and Placement Test.

Step 3.

Pay your application fee.

When you apply or re-apply to a career program, you are required to pay the non-refundable application fee of $75 CAD (domestic & students within Canada) or $140 CAD (international).

Pay Now

When you apply online through ApplyAlberta, you can pay online using Visa or MasterCard.

Pay Later

If you do not want to pay online, you can choose the 'Pay Later' option.

Step 4.

Make sure you provide us with complete, accurate transcripts of your education history. 

You must submit transcripts from all post-secondary institutions you’ve attended. These transcripts become the property of Bow Valley College and will not be returned.
Email a copy to registrar@bowvalleycollege.ca.  

If you attended a public high school or a post-secondary institution within Alberta, you can create an education account on myPass.  (this will allow you to see your Alberta Education transcripts). You may also bring a copy to the Office of the Registrar or email a scanned copy to upgrading@bowvalleycollege.ca.



You must provide proof of enrolment if you are currently attending a post-secondary institution.

Your application will be delayed if you do not provide the required transcripts or proof of enrolment.

Step 5.

You're done!

Once you’ve submitted your application, paid the application fee, and submitted your transcripts, check your application status regularly for any updates or additional steps that may be required.
