Can I get a conditional acceptance into one of Bow Valley College’s career programs if I am registered in high school upgrading courses?

In most cases, students enrolled in high school upgrading courses at Bow Valley College may be considered for conditional acceptance. However, this is not guaranteed.

I want to earn my Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. What can I take at Bow Valley College to help me with this goal?

I have my Level 1 and/or my Level 2 certification from the Alberta Early Childhood Educator Office. How can I earn my next certification level?

The Government of Alberta awards eligible individuals with a Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 Early Childhood Educator Certification based on previous education they have completed. Bow Valley College offers eligible training to earn a Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 certification:

Level 1: Successfully complete a three-credit introductory course in early childhood education. You can take an eligible course (like ELCC1101 or ELCC1301) through Open Studies.

Level 2: Successfully complete a recognized early childhood education certificate. You can complete the Early Childhood Education and Development Certificate program.

Level 3: Successfully complete a recognized early childhood education diploma. You can complete the Early Childhood Education and Development Diploma program.

I have my Level 1 and/or my Level 2 certification from the Alberta Early Childhood Educator Office. Can I use this for admission?

While the education you completed to earn the certification may help you to qualify for admission to Bow Valley College, the possession of the certification itself does not qualify you for admission into a Bow Valley College program. You must demonstrate you meet the academic admission requirements and English language proficiency requirements outlined for the program you want to complete.

Can I complete my high school diploma at Bow Valley College?

Yes. You can complete recognized high school upgrading courses at Bow Valley College. These courses are offered through the Upgrading program to count towards a high school diploma. The Government of Alberta offers multiple pathways to earn a high school diploma, including high school equivalency diploma or by writing the CAEC (Canadian Adult Education Credential) that replaced the GED in Canada.

My transcripts were not sent in on time for the intake I applied for. Do I need to reapply for the next intake?

Yes, if you don't submit the required documents on time, you’ll need to reapply for the next intake. Admissions officers cannot admit students who have not provided all of the required documentation.
