As an international students, do I need to submit physical copies of my transcripts?

Admissions does not ask for official transcripts but Transfer Credit does. In these cases of applying for Transfer Credit, They have to be mailed from the institution you attended directly to Bow Valley College in an unopened envelope. If they are Canadian transcripts then they can be sent to Bow Valley College through MyCREDS.

How do I opt out of the Health and Dental Insurance plan?

All full time students are required to participate in the mandatory Health and Dental program. If you have alternative coverage you can apply to opt out. For more information on eligibility and how to opt out you need to go to the student association webpage.

I attend another post-secondary. Can I write my exams at the Downtown campus?

No, We do not offer this service at the Downtown location.

I attend another post-secondary. Can I write my exams at the Okotoks campus?

Yes. The fee is $70.00 + GST and can be booked Monday to Fridays at 9:00am or 1:00pm. Please call 403-476-2233 or email regional@bowvalleycollege.ca to book. This service is only available at the Okotoks Campus and is not available at the downtown campus.

What programs can I take at the Okotoks campus?

You can take the Social Work Diploma program at the Okotoks campus. The program is delivered 2 days per week face to face, and one day of online courses. Bow Vally College also has several online programs you can take without leaving Okotoks, or the comfort of your home.

What is a Reduced Course Load (RCL)?

A Reduced Course Load (RCL) is an option for students with a diagnosed medical condition that impacts their ability to attend school full time. It allows them to have full-time status with fewer credits than would usually be needed. Students who are interested in a Reduced Course Load must discuss this with an Accessibility Advisor who will explain the eligibility requirements and approval process.

Am I eligible to work as a phlebotomist upon successful completion of the Phlebotomy course?

No. The Phlebotomy course is an advanced competency for Licensed Practical Nurses and does not provide separate accreditation as a phlebotomist.

For extended Education courses, by what date do I need to complete the course?

The course must be completed by the designated end date. This date is provided in the welcome email sent at the start of the course.
