Bow Valley College is the first and only post-secondary in the world to be recognized for cloud security by the Cloud Security Alliance.
As of June 2024 the college became one of just over one hundred companies worldwide to achieve “Trusted Cloud Provider” status through the Cloud Security Alliance, demonstrating a commitment to safe data and privacy management.
The Cloud Security Alliance organization is the world standard in defining and raising awareness of the best practices in keeping a secure cloud computing environment.
The registry of companies is public and searchable.
“It allows us to show both current and future students that we have a strong security posture, that student, financial and research records are confidential, secure, and available when they’re needed,” says James Cairns, associate director of ITS security at Bow Valley College.
“It puts us with the industry leaders.”
CSA Star Level 1 and Trusted Cloud Provider badges will soon start to appear on some Bow Valley College pages and signatures.
Other registered companies include Amazon, Google, and Microsoft.
