When Karan Badeshha arrived in Canada in March 2013, he faced a future full of uncertainty—but he was determined to carve his own path. Shortly after settling in Calgary, he enrolled in Bow Valley College’s Business Administration Diploma program, majoring in Financial Services—a decision that became a beacon of hope during a time of transition.
Through the college, Karan secured his first Canadian job at TD Bank in 2014. Since then, he has steadily advanced his career and now serves as a branch manager. He is grateful for the opportunities that Bow Valley College and TD have provided, and he is committed to giving back to Bow Valley College and its community.
Inspired by the professional speakers who visited his classrooms as a student, Karan now volunteers in schools, educating young students about essential financial concepts such as debit cards, savings, and checking accounts. His goal is to equip the next generation with the knowledge they need for financial success.
“Bow Valley really strengthened me as a person,”
says Karan.
“I didn’t feel like an imposter. I felt valued. The mentorship and encouragement I received were invaluable as I navigated this new journey."
Beyond his work in finance, Karan also supports newcomers to Calgary, offering guidance in language translation and helping them navigate settlement processes. His journey is a powerful testament to resilience, mentorship, and the impact of community support.
Karan’s story is proof that with determination and the right support system, anyone can build a successful future—and help others along the way.
